Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:00
Basic Salary: R 6000 – With commission of R15 per vehicle, typical monthly earnings:

Performers analysing >200 vehicles earn.

  • ≈ R13,000 – R16,000 total per month

About The Position

ROLE PURPOSE

The Data Analyst is responsible for analysing fuel, tracking, and telematics data to produce accurate weekly fuel reports, detect anomalies, and support SmartMix clients with actionable insights.
The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent Excel proficiency, and the ability to work independently with high attention to detail.

You will be assigned a fixed fleet list of 150–200 vehicles, and are responsible for producing weekly reports on-time, error-free, and according to SmartMix data standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Technical Skills

  • MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) NQF 5 qualification
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning, lookups, conditional formatting)
  • PowerPoint skills (build presentations, report summaries)
  • Computer Science background advantageous
  • Programming experience beneficial
  • Strong general computer literacy
  • Comfortable learning new software tools and dashboards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Weekly Fuel Data Analysis
  • Analyse fuel levels, consumption, fill-ups, drops, theft patterns, and anomalies.
  • Review probe data, telematics data, and control-room flags.
  • Identify high-risk vehicles, unusual behaviour and discrepancies.
  1. Generate Weekly Fuel Reports
  • Produce accurate, detailed fuel reports for 150–200 vehicles.
  • Ensure reports are delivered within required deadlines.
  • Present findings clearly using graphs, tables, and visuals.
  1. Detect Fuel Theft & Irregularities
  • Highlight suspected fuel loss events.
  • Verify probe readings vs. GPS vs. volumes.
  • Help clients understand loss patterns and prevention opportunities.
  1. Support Client Queries
  • Assist clients and internal teams with data clarifications.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis.
  • Contribute to improving SmartMix’s data accuracy and reporting processes.
  1. Reporting & Presentation
  • Build summary dashboards and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Package insights for bureau service and client delivery teams.
  • Maintain a clean, structured data pipeline for easy auditing.

 

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS (KPIs)

  • 150–200 vehicles analysed weekly.
  • Reports submitted within deadlines (99% on-time).
  • Report error rate below 2%.
  • Client satisfaction rating.
  • Internal SLA compliance.
